It is the land of the Sinhalese, Sri Lankan Tamils, Moors, Indian Tamils, Burghers, Malays, Kaffirs and the aboriginal Vedda.Sri Lanka has a rich Buddhist heritage, and the first known Buddhist writings were composed on the island.
